Our girls basketball team made it to the state tournament for the 8th year in a row, so we went to their game Thursday night in Lincoln to cheer them on. The girls worked so hard during their season, and it's a blessing to see their excitement as their hard work is rewarded (Blessing #346).
Even though we had a really late game Thursday (8:45 pm), it was a blessing because it meant that Jillian could still go to her ballet/tap dance class before we left town. (#347)
And along the way, the snow geese were making a beautiful blanket of white across the ground and sky near the river. (#348) This time of year is always beautiful, with the geese migration taking place.
For some reason, Jenica decided to text her friend Blair on our trip to Lincoln. (Which turned out to be a blessing - #349.) Because . . . Blair is one of Jenica's best friends from Kamp Kitaki - the "heart camp" that she goes to every year. And . . . Blair also happens to be from Seward. And . . . Blair was at the state basketball tournament watching Seward play basketball . . . at the same auditorium where Holdrege would be playing. They got to see each other again, for about 30 minutes! (#350)They were so excited!
Even though the Dusters lost in the first round, it was great to get out of town for a couple days, and show our support for the girls basketball team. (#351) They always have a great following, and this year was no different. I'm pretty sure Holdrege is a ghost town when our teams make it to state.
We are thankful that Chad's brother and sister both live in Lincoln. Noel & Patty are always willing to give us a place to stay (#352). On Friday night, we went to Steve & Dani's for a pizza party before heading home. Jacob and a couple buddies joined us for pizza, and Jenica & Jillian enjoyed playing with Kaylee and Chase. (#353)
Jillian was getting hot, so Kaylee gave her an out-grown practice jersey to run around in. (It was a little big.) And Jillian was excited when Aunt Dani said she could keep it. (#354)
Chase loves Jenica! And Jenica would love to live in Lincoln so she could babysit for Aunt Dani. Here, they're laughing at "I'm Elmo And I Know It" on Jenica's iPod. Laughter is good medicine! (#355)
Friday was Dr. Suess's Birthday, so we celebrated by taking the girls to the matinee of "The Lorax" (#356) at the Lincoln Grand Theater.
We utilitzed our option to redeam our empty bucket for a free refill, and today we are making caramel corn, courtesy of the Lincoln Grand Theater. (#357)
