Practice Makes Almost Perfect

This morning was not a morning for sleeping in.  No, no, no.  (Drats!)  Instead, it was up-and-at-'em bright and early for all the little dancers in our town.  It's always amazing to me, how everything comes together for the annual dance recital.  (Blessing # 689)

Today's dance rehearsal went smoothly, and it gave everyone another chance to get all dolled up in their costumes and practice once (or twice, in some cases) again before the big recital tomorrow.  (#690)

Kudos to the moms who volunteer to stay with each group in the green room and keep the little girls busy until it's time for their appearance on stage.  One of the moms in Jillian's group came equipped with snacks and coloring pages.   (#691)   She's evidently done this before.

They quickly changed into their tap and jazz costumes and practiced each of their routines, which was fun for the moms that stuck around because we could get right up close and snap a few photos. (#692)  It also was fun to watch the high school girls with their routines.  The clogging was probably my favorite.  How in the world do they move their feet so fast while their hands are behind their backs?  Maybe someday, Jillian will try and teach me.

Tomorrow's the day all of these girls have been preparing for.  Jillian is typically afraid of being less than perfect, but something about dance gives her the confidence she needs to just do her best.  And I'm so proud of her!
